How to write in the third person

1

Talk about the subject in general terms. Sometimes an author needs to make a reference to a subject without naming him or her specifically. In other words, he needs to mention the person in general rather than some already known person. In this case, there is usually a temptation to write "you. In this case, however, it is appropriate to use a generalized noun or pronoun, either indefinite, determinative or negative.

Common nouns often pay to write paper used in third person scientific writing include: author, reader, student, teacher, person, man, woman, child, people, researchers, scientists, experts, representatives.

Example: "Despite many objections, the researchers continue to defend their position."

Avoid the redundant "he or she" construction. Sometimes modern authors write "he or she" instead of "he" even though the subject is originally mentioned in the masculine gender.

This use of pronouns is dictated by political correctness and is the norm, for example, https://payforessay.pro/college-homework-help/ in English, but in Russian it usually just makes the phrase redundant. After the noun "scientist," "doctor," "child," and "man," you can and should write "he.

Incorrect: "The witness wanted to testify anonymously. He or she was afraid of getting hurt if his or her name became known."

Correct: "The witness wanted to testify anonymously. He was afraid of getting hurt if his or her name became known.
